Kari A. Stubbs Announces Candidacy For Magisterial District Judge In 55-4-01

Kari A. Stubbs is announcing her candidacy for Magisterial District Judge of District Court 55-4-01.

The court covers the following areas: the Boroughs of Shinglehouse and Oswayo, and the Townships of Genesee, Allegany, Hebron, Oswayo, Sharon, Clara, Roulette, and Pleasant Valley.

Stubbs, a Republican, will cross file for the six year term that is open due to the upcoming retirement of the Honorable Barbara J. Easton.

Stubbs was raised in Shinglehouse and graduated as an Honor Student from Oswayo Valley High School in 2003. In 2005, she graduated with Honors from Jamestown Community College, with a Social Science degree, and again in 2006, with High Honors in Criminal Justice.

She has held various employment positions throughout her high school and college years, including a camp counselor for youth with behavioral problems.

During the spring of 2005, Stubbs started working as a secretary/clerk for District Court 55-4-01 where she has been for the last six years.

During her six years in the Court, Stubbs was the only staff member, giving her the opportunity to experience all aspects of the Courts inner workings and procedures. While working in the office, Stubbs attended every training class that was available to her. She currently holds eight state training certifications for the Magisterial District Court System.

Over the years Stubbs has always been a community minded person, belonging to multiple community service organizations. She was an active 4-H member and went on to be a leader for several years. She grew up showing everything from artwork to animals at the Potter County Fair, and is now one of the Chairladies for the Rabbit Department. Within the last couple of years she has become involved with the Potter County based "To Fill A Backpack" program.

Stubbs currently resides in Sharon Twp., and enjoys spending her spare time with family, friends, and her animals.
