PREREQUISITES: IST or INTRODUCTION TO THE FIRE SERVICE (ELIS)

The failure of building components under fire conditions is a leading cause of

firefighter death and injury. The ability to recognize, locate, and “read” critical

information about a building before a fire breaks out is critical to suppression efforts and firefighter safety.

This course prepares the student to accomplish these skills in buildings constructed of wood frame and ordinary construction.
