5-18 The Galeton Public Library is planning a cooking contest!

Cooking Contest

The Galeton Public Library is planning a cooking contest! It will be held on Saturday May 19th from 12 - whenever at St. Bibiana's Parish Hall.

In order to participate in the contest, you must purchase one of the Galeton Library's Community Cookbooks and prepare a dish from the cookbook. You will be issued a participant number when you purchase your cookbook (for sale at the Galeton Library, Northwest Savings Bank in Galeton and From My Shelf Books in Wellsboro) as all entries will be anonymous so the judges will not be biased! (If you have already purchased a cookbook, simply bring it in to the Library and show it to Darlene and she will issue you a participant number.

You only need one cookbook for each household so if more than one member of your household wishes to enter, please tell Darlene so she can issue each of you your own participant number.) There are three categories open for entry: all participants 16 years of age and older may choose any recipe from either the Main Dishes or the Desserts to prepare; all participants under age 16 must choose one of recipes from Appetizers & Beverages.

The winner of the Main Dishes category will win a lunch for 2 donated by Tutors in Galeton; the winner of the Desserts category will win a gift certificate donated by Mo's Sweet Shop; the winner of the under 16 category will win a $25 Visa gift card donated by Northwest Savings Bank in Galeton.

Hope to see you there! If you have more questions, please either post here or call the Library at 435-2321. All participants must register by May 18th!
