Friday 7/22/11

Beach Area
Canoe Tour
Discover the history, management, and
wildlife of our lake. Must pre-register at
the park office. Limited to 18 persons.


9:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Visitor’s Center Pavilion
Black Dogs & Rainbow Ducks
Learn about waterfowl conservation through
the eyes of a young boy and his interaction with
an old hunter and black lab. An enjoyable
conservation classic by Ducks Unlimited.


Saturday 7/23/11
5:00 – 8:00 pm
Beach Area
Family Fishing Program
Discover just how much fun fishing can be
when you do it together at a PFBC Family
Fishing Program. Learn basic fishing skills
like knot tying, casting, baiting the hook, and
taking a fish off the hook. You and your family
will have the opportunity to fish – no fishing license
required. All equipment provided. The “catch???”
Adults must bring a child and children must bring an adult.
You’ll be learning and fishing together.

Fish filleting and cooking to follow.

Visitor’s Center Pavilion
Intro to the Night Sky

Find out where to start, equipment you
might need, and how to get the most out
of viewing the night sky. After a short introduction,
check out reference materials, telescopes, and even
planetarium software for your computer. Be sure to
stick around for the observing session to follow.
This rain or shine event will take place in the pavilion
near the Visitor Center (located in the campground).


10:00 – 11:00 pm
Visitor’s Center Field
Night Sky Tour

Witness the splendor of the night sky, tour
constellations by laser-guided sky tour and
explore deep space objects by telescope. The
program will take place in the field near the
Visitors Center. In the event of clouds or rain,
an alternative program will take place in the
pavilion. In the event of severe weather, the
program will be cancelled.
